Steelheads defeat Rush 3-1

The Idaho Steelheads 19-8-3-0 became the top team in the western conference with their 3-1 victory over the 13-14-2-0 Rapid City Rush.

Idaho forward Liam Malmquist got Idaho on the board first after intercepting a pass from Briley Wood below the left circle and going upstairs on Conner Murphy.

There was 9 penalties at the end of the second with five misconducts and two game misconducts.

Idaho would get the game-winning tally from Robbie Holmes at 14:29 of the third from Jason Horvath Holmes from the top of the right circle fired it past Murphy.

Ryan Chyzowski finally got the Rush on the board with 47 seconds left as he sent a wrister from the top of the left circle over the shoulder of Barczewski.

Nick Canade scored the empty netter from center ice 17 seconds later.

With the victory Idaho becomes first in the western conference and third in the league.
